Envee Privacy Policy

Effective date: November 2, 2026

Envee ("Envee," "we," "us") is an iPhone app for ranking and sharing the clothes you own. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It is written in plain English on purpose.

Contact: closetapp.mail@gmail.com (also for privacy requests and questions).

1. What we collect

Account information. Your email address and a password (or, if you use Sign in with Apple, the name and email Apple shares with us, which may be a private relay address) (we store only a scrambled form of the password, never the password itself), your username, an optional display name, an optional profile photo, and a confirmation that you are at least 13 years old. We do not store your date of birth.

Your content. The clothing items you add to your closet or wish list, your rankings and scores, the notes you write, comments, likes, follows, blocks, reports, and any photos you upload of your own items.

Optional phone number. If you add a phone number so friends can find you, we store only a one-way hash (SHA-256) of the number — never the number itself — in a table that no app user can read. Hashed data is pseudonymous, not anonymous; we protect it as personal information and delete it when you remove your number or delete your account.

Optional contacts access (finding friends). If you allow access to your contacts, Envee computes a one-way SHA-256 hash of each phone number and email address on your device. Only those hashes are sent to our servers, where they are compared against the hashes of members who chose to be discoverable. We do not upload or store your contacts, their names, or the hashes, and we never contact anyone in your address book. You can revoke access at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy > Contacts. Finding friends is optional; you can always search by username instead.

Shopping links. When you tap "Shop this item," the retailer and our catalog partner (Channel3) receive the click. We record that you clicked, which item, and the time so we can track affiliate commissions. We do not see what you buy.

Push notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a device token so we can send you alerts about follows, likes, and comments. It is deleted when you sign out or delete your account.

Technical information. Like any online service, our servers receive your device's IP address and basic device information when the app connects. We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking software of any kind.

2. How we use it

3. What is public

Envee is a social app. Your username, display name, profile photo, closet, rankings, scores, notes, likes, and comments are visible to other members (to everyone if your account is public; to your followers if you set it to private). Notes you write on an item appear on your friends' feeds — do not put private information in a note. Your email address and phone number are never shown to anyone.

4. Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that run the app, and only to the extent needed:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the safety of members, or as part of a business transfer (we would notify you).

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account exists. When you delete your account (Settings > Delete account), your profile, closet, rankings, notes, comments, likes, follows, phone hash, and uploaded photos are deleted within 30 days and removed from backups within 90 days. We keep report and abuse records for up to one year to enforce our rules and comply with the law. Contact-matching hashes are never stored.

6. Your choices and rights

We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals because we do not track you across other apps or websites.

7. Children

Envee is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we delete it and its data. If you believe a child under 13 is using Envee, email closetapp.mail@gmail.com.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, row-level access rules in our database so members can only reach their own private data, and locked-down photo storage. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Where your data lives

Envee is offered in the United States and its data is processed in the United States. If you use the app from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US.

10. Changes

We will update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above shows the latest version; for material changes we will notify you in the app.
